CONTESTANTS' INSTRUCTIONS

MIVA Competition Rules & Regulations

  1. Competition Uniforms
  • All contestants will receive one (1) complimentary T-shirt.
  • Wearing the official T-shirt is mandatory for all contestants and winners during stage appearances and award presentations.
  1. Entry Passes
  • Contestants, models, and crew must collect admission badges at the designated counter at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (Hall 1):
    • One day before competition: 11:00 AM
    • Competition day: 8:00 AM
  1. Redemption of Complimentary T-shirts
  • T-shirts will be distributed upon badge collection.
  • Contestants must present their online registration receipt.
  • No T-shirts will be mailed or distributed to absentees.
  • Each participant is entitled to one (1) T-shirt only, regardless of the number of categories entered.
  1. Registration & Payment
  • Online registration is mandatory.
  • Payment methods: Online Booking
  • Currency accepted: Malaysian Ringgit (RM)
  1. Cancellation & Refund Policy
  • The organizer reserves the right to cancel the competition due to insufficient participation, force majeure events, or unforeseen circumstances.
  • In such cases, registration fees will be refunded.
  • All payments are otherwise strictly non-refundable, including but not limited to withdrawals, no-shows, visa issues, or personal circumstances.
  1. Force Majeure

The organizer shall not be held liable for failure or delay in performance due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

    • Natural disasters
    • Government restrictions
    • Public health emergencies
    • Venue closure or safety concerns
  1. Registration Confirmation
  • All participants must retain their online registration receipt for verification and collection purposes.
  1. Changes to Registration
  • All registrations are final.
  • No changes to categories, participant names, or substitutions will be allowed after submission.
  1. Competition Schedule
  • Participants must adhere strictly to the official schedule provided by the organizer.
  • The organizer reserves the right to adjust the schedule if necessary.
  1. Entry & Reporting Time
  • Participants are advised to arrive at least 2 hours before their competition time.
  • Live competition contestants:
    • Registration: 30 minutes before category start
    • Late arrival exceeding 15 minutes: automatic disqualification
  1. Venue Access & Rules
  • Only authorized personnel (contestants, models, judges, media, crew) are allowed in the competition area.
  • Spectators may view from designated public areas.
  • Entry policies are subject to the regulations of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
  1. Eligibility
  • Open to individuals aged 16 years and above, regardless of nationality or gender.
  1. Judging Criteria & Decisions
  • Judging will be based on:
    • Creativity
    • Technical skill
    • Presentation
    • Hygiene & professionalism
    • Compliance with competition rules
  • The judges’ decision is final and binding. No appeals will be entertained.
  1. Conflict of Interest
  • Judges must declare any conflict of interest.
  • Judges are prohibited from judging categories involving:
    • Their own participation
    • Their students, employees, or affiliated parties
  1. Code of Conduct & Disqualification

The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant for:

    • Misconduct or disruptive behavior
    • Cheating or unfair practices
    • Violation of competition rules
    • Damage to venue property
    • Offensive, abusive, or inappropriate conduct
  1. Submission of Posters & Video Tutorials
  • Posters: 300 dpi JPEG format
  • Video submissions: via email to competition submission page
  • Deadline: 22 May 2026
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
  1. Competition Facilities
  • Basic facilities provided:
    • Preparation room
    • Competition area (tables & chairs)
  • Electricity will only be supplied for designated categories.
  1. Equipment & Models
  • Contestants must bring their own tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Models, if required, must be arranged and paid for by contestants.
  1. Safety & Hygiene
  • Contestants must use safe, hygienic, and approved products.
  • Compliance with health and safety standards is mandatory.
  • The organizer reserves the right to stop unsafe practices.
  1. Competition Area Rules
  • Participants may not leave the competition area without permission.
  • Prohibited activities:
    • Interaction with external parties
    • Eating or drinking
    • Selfies, filming, or live streaming
  1. Completion & Cleanup
  • Contestants must clean their workstations and remove all items after the competition.
  • The organizer is not responsible for loss or damage of personal belongings.
  1. Pre-done Artwork
  • Artwork will be displayed in the competition area.
  • Must be collected on the same day after judging.
  • The organizer is not liable for any damage or loss.
  1. Certificates & Awards
  • Certificates and trophies must be collected after the competition upon presentation of receipt.
  • Absent winners:
    • Certificates: emailed (JPEG format)
    • Trophies/medals: shipped at participant’s cost
  1. Award Ceremony
  • Awards will be presented on competition day and during the Gala Dinner.
  • Winners may bring their artwork/model on stage.
  1. Certificate Amendments
  • Requests for corrections must be submitted within 21 days.
  • Revised certificates will be issued in digital format only.
  1. Photography & Media Rights
  • The organizer reserves the right to photograph, record, and publish event materials.
  • By participating, contestants grant consent for use in marketing and promotional purposes without compensation.
  1. Intellectual Property
  • Contestants are responsible for ensuring their work does not infringe any intellectual property rights.
  • The organizer shall not be liable for any related legal disputes.
  1. Liability & Insurance
  • Participants compete at their own risk.
  • The organizer shall not be held liable for:
    • Injuries, accidents, or allergic reactions
    • Loss or damage to personal property
  • Participants are encouraged to obtain personal insurance where necessary.
  1. Personal Data Protection
  • Personal data collected will be used for event management, communication, and promotional purposes in accordance with applicable laws in Malaysia.
  1. Organizer’s Rights
  • The organizer reserves the right to:
    • Amend rules and regulations
    • Modify competition categories
    • Make final decisions in case of disputes
  1. Final Decision
  • All decisions made by the organizer and judging panel are final and conclusive.
