(M4P) Make Up Artistry - Creative Prosthetic Eye Makeup - Carnival Theme

  1. Competition Objective

To test the comprehensive abilities of contestants in makeup techniques, color coordination, detail handling, and creative composition through a creative eye makeup design on practice skin under the theme “Carnival.” Contestants are required to apply professional skills and artistic imagination to create an eye makeup artwork full of vitality and a festive atmosphere.

  1. Scoring Criteria
  • Makeup Technique:
    • Exquisite detail handling, smooth lines, and natural color transition and blending.
    • Skillful and secure application of embellishments such as sequins and rhinestones.
    • The complexity and completeness of the overall technique.
  • Creativity & Theme Adherence:
    • How well the artwork adheres to the theme, effectively conveying an atmosphere of passion, energy, and fantasy.
    • The novelty, uniqueness, originality, and artistic expression of the design concept.
  • Color Application & Composition:
    • Bold and harmonious color combinations that create a strong visual impact.
    • A balanced, well-defined, and aesthetically pleasing overall composition.
  1. Competition Rules

(1) Competition Content

    1. Theme: Contestants must create a design based on the “Carnival” theme. The style should be vibrant, dynamic, and imaginative.
    2. Medium: The artwork must be completed on eye makeup practice skin.
    3. Materials: Various makeup products, glitter, rhinestones, feathers, small appliqués, and other decorative materials may be used. However, all materials must be affixed to the practice skin using makeup techniques.

(5) Prohibitions

    1. Do not add the contestant’s name, logo, or any other content on the practice skin that could compromise anonymous judging.
    2. Do not submit content that is inconsistent with the actual makeup artwork.
    3. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. All designs must be original.
  1. Artwork Medium Requirements

(1) Medium Conditions

    • It is recommended to use high-quality silicone practice board that is flat, clean, and undamaged to ensure the best application results.
  1. Competition Process

(1) Submission and Display

    1. Contestants must submit their finished artwork to the designated area at least 1 hour before the start of the competition on the event day. Late submissions will be considered a withdrawal from the competition.
    2. After submission, the organizer will assign a number to each artwork. Contestants must not add any personal identifiers.
    3. The judges will evaluate the artworks based on the scoring criteria, assessing their technical skill, creativity, and overall presentation.

(2) Artwork Retrieval

    1. After the judging is completed on the competition day, contestants can retrieve their artwork at the designated location at 5:00 PM.
    2. Contestants must present their competition number to verify their identity and retrieve their artwork. Any unclaimed artwork will be handled by the organizer.

(M4L) Make Up Artistry - “Open Theme” Character Cosplay

  1. Competition Objective

This competition evaluates participants’ comprehensive skills in makeup techniques, creative expression, character recreation, and performance ability. Participants must embody their chosen character, completing the makeup design within the given time frame, and showcase the character’s unique traits by recreating iconic actions or dialogue during the presentation.

  1. Scoring Criteria
  • Makeup Technique: Assessment of detailed makeup work, overall accuracy to the character, and effective use of colors and layering.
  • Creativity and Theme Relevance: Evaluation of whether the makeup design reflects the chosen character’s core traits and delivers a unique, engaging representation.
  • Overall Coordination: Judgement of the harmony between the makeup, costume, and props, and whether the entire look effectively portrays the character.
  • Live Performance: Assessment of how well the participant conveys the character’s essence through iconic actions, dialogue, or poses, engaging both judges and the audience.
  1. Competition Rules

(1) Competition Content

  1. Makeup Theme: Participants may choose any character (from film, animation, original creations, etc.). The character style is unrestricted but must align with the essence of cosplay. Abstract concepts are discouraged.
  2. Completion Ratio: 80% of the makeup and styling must be completed before the competition. The remaining 20% must be finalized on-site and may include touch-ups such as eye makeup, light effects, or additional creative elements.
  3. Overall Styling: Makeup must be paired with appropriate costumes, wigs, and props to present a cohesive character portrayal during the live performance.

(2) Competition Time

  • The competition duration is 30 minutes. All actions must be completed within the time limit.

(3) Participant Appearance Requirements

  1. Model as Participant: The participant must act as the model, presenting their own makeup and character design. Substitution of the model is not allowed.
  2. Costume and Styling: The participant’s costume and makeup must align seamlessly to create a complete and visually appealing character.

(4) Tools and Products

  1. Required Equipment: Participants must bring their own makeup tools (e.g., cosmetics, false lashes, adhesives), character props, and costume materials. All tools must comply with safety standards.
  2. Prop Use: Lightweight props (e.g., weapons, accessories) related to the character are allowed but must not pose a safety hazard to the participant or the audience.
  3. Extension Cords: Contestants must bring their own extension cords; the organizer will only provide one electrical outlet per participant.

 

(5) Prohibited Actions

  1. Plagiarism of another participant’s work is prohibited. All designs must be original or faithfully adapted from the chosen character.
  2. Use of live organisms (e.g., insects, reptiles) as part of the makeup or styling is prohibited.
  3. Use of irritant makeup products or those that have not passed safety certification is prohibited.
  4. Use of spray paint, flammable materials, or any props that could disrupt the competition environment is not allowed.
  1. Model Requirements

(1) Model Conditions

The participant themselves will serve as the model. During the competition, participants must fully embody their character and enhance their presentation through expressive performances.

  1. Safety and Hygiene

(1) Tools and Products

  1. All tools must be disinfected before and after the competition to ensure no risk of cross-contamination.
  2. Makeup products must be certified safe and must not cause irritation or adverse reactions to the skin.

(2) Work Area Cleanliness

  1. Contestants must ensure that their workstations (tables and chairs) are tidy, with no tools, products, or waste left behind.
  2. After the competition, contestants should promptly clean up their tools and products and restore the workstation to a tidy condition.
  1. Competition Process

(1) Pre-Competition Preparation

  1. Contestant and Model Check-in:
  • Contestants must arrive at the designated area at least 15 minutes before the competition starts for check-in.

(2) Competition Segment

  1. Competition Start: Contestants have 30 minutes to complete all actions.
  2. Competition End: Contestants must stop immediately when time is up. Any unfinished work will not be counted in the scoring.

(3) Character Presentation

  1. Dynamic Performance: Participants must present iconic actions, dialogue, or poses that define their chosen character (e.g., signature poses, catchphrases, or gestures).
