(H3P) Hairdressing - Men Trend Cut and Color (Dummy Head)

1. Competition Objective

  • To assess participants’ professional skills in cutting techniques, styling abilities, and overall design coordination by completing a creative men’s haircut and coloring design on a mannequin head.

  • Participants are required to present a creative men’s hairstyle, demonstrating technical strength and creativity through cutting and blow-drying styling techniques.

2. Judging Criteria

  • Creativity: Whether the hairstyle design is unique and visually impactful, and whether the overall look is innovative and aligned with the competition theme.

  • Cutting & Blow-Drying Techniques: Smooth cutting lines, clear layering, and the effective use of blow-drying techniques that reflect technical proficiency.

  • Hair Coloring Effect: Clear color contrast, balanced brightness, and harmonious color combinations that complement the hairstyle.

  • Overall Coordination: The harmony between the hairstyle, mannequin head attire, and the overall styling presentation.

3. Competition Content

  • Creative Cutting: Complete an avant-garde men’s haircut on a mannequin head and demonstrate blow-drying styling techniques. The cut must feature multi-layered design with clear and well-defined layers.

  • Coloring Effect: The mannequin head must include at least two hair colors. High-brightness colors are allowed, provided they complement the cutting style. Hair coloring must be completed before the competition.

  • Completion Requirement: The work must be 100% completed.

  • Overall Styling: The mannequin head’s clothing and accessories must match the competition theme and enhance the overall visual impact.

4. Competition Time

  • The total competition duration is 30 minutes.

5. Competitor Appearance Requirements

  • Dress Code: Participants must wear the official uniform top provided by the organizer, paired with appropriate trousers and footwear to reflect a professional image.

  • Hair Requirements: Hair must be neat, clean, and well-groomed. Long hair should be properly tied up to maintain cleanliness and professionalism.

  • Overall Appearance: Participants must maintain a clean and tidy appearance. Excessive accessories are not permitted to ensure a professional look.

6. Prohibited Items and Actions

  • The use of hair extensions is strictly prohibited.

  • The use of colored spray products to enhance, supplement, or cover hair coloring is prohibited.

  • The use of severely damaged mannequin heads is not allowed.

7. Mannequin Head Specifications

(1) Material

  • Participants must prepare their own mannequin head.

  • Hair materials are not restricted (e.g., human hair, goat hair, heat-resistant synthetic fibers, etc.), allowing participants to choose materials suitable for the competition.

  • The selected material must support cutting, coloring, and styling, and provide good visual presentation.

  • The male mannequin head must be equipped with a stable, upright stand.

  • The stand height must be adjustable between 100 cm and 150 cm to meet display requirements.

(2) Cleanliness

  • The mannequin head must be clean and tidy, free from oil, dye residue, or other contaminants.

(3) Coloring and Decoration

  • The mannequin head must be suitable for coloring and styling, and all products used must meet safety certification standards.

  • Decorations and accessories may be used freely, provided they do not obstruct the main hairstyle design and are consistent with the competition theme.

8. Competition Procedure

(1) Submission and Display

  • On the competition day, participants must submit their completed work to the designated area at least 1 hour before the competition begins. Late submissions will be regarded as a withdrawal.

  • The organizer will assign and attach a number label to each submitted work.

  • Participants are not allowed to add any identifying marks.

  • Judges will evaluate the works based on the judging criteria, focusing on technical skill, creativity, and overall presentation.

(2) Collection of Works

  • After the judging process on the competition day, participants may collect their mannequin head works from the designated location from 5:00 PM onwards.

  • Participants must present their competition number to verify their identity when collecting the work.

  • Works not collected within the specified time will be disposed of by the organizer.

(3) Pre-Competition Preparation

  • Check-in: Participants must arrive at the designated venue and complete check-in at least 15 minutes before the competition starts.

(4) Work Display

  • The male mannequin head must remain displayed in its original position. Judges will inspect the hairstyle design and overall styling and award scores accordingly.
