Nail Artistry

(N5P) Nail Artistry - “Floral Fantasy” Creative Flat Watercolor Design

  1. Competition Objective

This competition focuses on creative expression and technical execution, evaluating participants’ artistic creativity, attention to detail, and overall design layout in flat watercolor nail art. Participants must create designs using watercolor paints on nail tips, centered around the theme “Floral Fantasy”, showcasing intricate patterns and harmonious color combinations. All works must be displayed in a transparent acrylic box to highlight the artistic appeal of the designs.

 

  1. Scoring Criteria
  • Creative Expression: The work must display unique creativity and personal style, aligning with the “Floral Fantasy” theme and presenting innovative concepts.
  • Technical Details: The patterns must be intricate, edges clean, color transitions smooth, and the overall design free from visible flaws.
  • Overall Aesthetic: The color scheme must be harmonious, the layout balanced, and the design must deliver strong visual impact.
  • Cleanliness and Neatness: The surface must be smooth, free of air bubbles, impurities, excess gel marks, or stains.

 

  1. Competition Rules

 

(1) Competition Tasks

  1. Creative Theme: “Floral Fantasy”:
  • Participants must create designs inspired by the “Floral Fantasy” theme, fully expressing the diversity and natural beauty of flowers.
  • The use of watercolor techniques to depict layers, transparency, and color variations of floral elements is encouraged.
  1. Box Display Requirements:
  • Size Restrictions: The finished work must be securely fixed within a transparent acrylic box. The box dimensions must not exceed 20cm (L) × 15cm (W) × 15cm (H).
  • Material Requirements: The box must be made of colorless, transparent acrylic; glass or other opaque materials are not permitted.
  • Structure Requirements: The box lid must be removable for the judges to inspect the details of the design. Sealed or glued boxes are not allowed.
  1. Nail Tip Design Requirements:
  • Type: Participants must use standard, commercially available nail tips; custom-made nail tips are prohibited.
  • Size Restrictions: Each nail tip must not exceed 9cm in length and 2cm in width.
  • Design: The work must be a hand-painted watercolor design using watercolor paints. The use of 3D sculptures, rhinestones, or other dimensional decorations is prohibited.
  • Quantity: Each box must contain five nail tips of different sizes, arranged neatly and logically.
  • Matt Top Coat: All nail tips must be coated with a matt top gel to ensure a flawless finish.
  1. Fixation and Display Requirements:
  • Nail Tip Fixation: The nail tips must be securely attached to the bottom or appropriate position within the acrylic box to prevent shifting or detachment during display.
  • Display: The design must be centered within the box, ensuring clear visibility of the nail tips from all angles. No additional decorations, fillers, or background enhancements are allowed inside the box.

 

(2) Prohibited Actions

  1. Using non-standard nail tips or tips exceeding the specified dimensions of 9cm × 2cm.
  2. Using an acrylic box that exceeds the specified dimensions of 20cm × 15cm × 15cm.
  3. Incorporating 3D sculptures, rhinestones, or other dimensional embellishments.
  4. Adding extra decorations, fillers, or background materials inside the acrylic box.
  5. Including personal information or identifiers such as names or logos in the design.
  6. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

 

  1. Competition Process

 

(1) Submission and Display

  1. Contestants must submit their artworks to the designated area at least 1 hour before the competition begins. Late submissions will be treated as a withdrawal from the competition.
  2. After submission, the organizer will assign a unique number to each artworks. Contestants are not allowed to add any marks or identifiers.
  3. Judges will evaluate the work based on the established criteria, considering technical, creative, and overall performance.

 

(2) Work Retrieval

  1. After the judging process is complete, contestants can collect their artworks from the designated location at 5:00 PM on the day of the competition.
  2. Contestants must show their contestant number to verify their identity and retrieve their work. Any unclaimed works will be handled by the organizer after the deadline.
