(N1L) Nail Artistry - Russian Manicure Care

  1. Competition Objective

This competition aims to evaluate the participants’ professional skills in Russian manicure care, focusing on the precision of cuticle trimming, the smoothness of nail surface cleaning, and the natural appearance of the overall manicure. Participants must complete a Russian manicure on the model’s left hand during the competition to demonstrate their technical expertise and overall coordination of the final work.

  1. Scoring Criteria
  • Cuticle Trimming: The cuticles must be cleanly and smoothly trimmed, with no excess skin or hangnails.
  • Nail Surface Cleaning: The nail surface must be clean, smooth, and free of visible scratches or unevenness.
  • Care Results: The manicure should display a healthy and natural shine, meeting the standards of Russian manicure care.
  • Technical Proficiency: The operations should be smooth, and the tools must be used appropriately.
  • Hygiene and Neatness: Tools and procedures must meet hygiene requirements, and the final result should be clean and free of stains.
  1. Competition Rules

(1) Competition Content

  1. On-Site Completion: Participants must complete the Russian manicure on the model’s left hand during the competition, including the following steps:
  • Cuticle Trimming: Remove excess cuticles to ensure a clean and smooth finish.
  • Nail Surface Cleaning: Eliminate dirt and ensure the nail surface is smooth and scratch-free.
  • Polishing Care: Achieve a natural, healthy shine.
  1. Completion Requirements:
  • The nail shape must remain natural, and the nail length must not exceed 0.5 cm.
  • The use of decorative products (e.g., top coat, nail polish, or decorative stickers) is prohibited.

(2) Competition Time

  • The competition duration is 30 minutes. All actions must be completed within the time limit.

(3) Contestant Grooming Requirements

  1. Dress Code: Contestants must wear the uniform provided by the organizer, paired with appropriate pants and shoes to reflect a professional image.
  2. Hair Requirements: Hair must be neatly styled, clean, and well-groomed. If the hair is long, it may be tied back to maintain cleanliness and professionalism.
  3. Overall Appearance: Contestants must maintain a tidy and clean appearance, without excessive accessories or heavy makeup, to ensure a professional look.

(4) Electric Nail Drill Usage Guidelines

  • The use of electric nail drills is allowed for cuticle trimming but is limited to fine drill bits to avoid damage to the nail or skin.
  • Participants must control the strength and speed of the electric nail drill to ensure safe operation and clean cuticle trimming.

(5) Tools and Products

  1. Tools: Electric nail drill (fine drill bits), cuticle pusher, cuticle nippers, fine-grit nail file, manicure towel, wet wipes, alcohol wipes, etc.
  2. Products: Cuticle remover oil, nail surface cleanser, hand care cream, cuticle oil, disinfectant, etc.
  3. Extension Cords: Contestants must bring their own extension cords; the organizer will only provide one electrical outlet per participant.

 

(6) Prohibited Actions

  1. Using electric nail drills or drill bits that do not meet the requirements.
  2. Applying top coats, nail polish, or any decorative products.
  3. Changing the model or performing any non-specified tasks on the model’s hand during the competition.
  4. Performing pre-treatment on the model’s hand (e.g., cuticle cleaning, nail surface shaping) before the competition.
  5. Using unsterilized tools or products.
  1. Model Requirements

(1) Model Conditions

Participants must bring their own models. Models must be female with healthy hand skin, free of severe sensitivity or allergic reactions.

  • The model’s left-hand nails must not exceed 0.5 cm in length and must be natural (no artificial nails or top coats).

(2) Model Clothing

  1. Style Requirements:
  • Models should wear simple and elegant attire, such as solid-colored dresses or a shirt and trousers. Clothing must be appropriate.
  1. Prohibited Attire:
  • Revealing clothing is not allowed.
  1. Safety and Hygiene

(1) Tools and Products

  1. All competition tools (e.g., cuticle pushers, cuticle nippers) must be cleaned and sterilized with heat or alcohol before use.
  2. Tools and products used during the competition must meet international safety standards.

(2) Work Area Cleanliness

  1. Contestants must ensure that their workstations (tables and chairs) are tidy, with no tools, products, or waste left behind.
  2. After the competition, contestants should promptly clean up their tools and products and restore the workstation to a tidy condition.
  1. Competition Process

(1) Pre-Competition Preparation

  1. Contestant and Model Check-in:
  • Contestants must arrive at the designated area with their model at least 15 minutes before the competition starts for check-in.

(2) Competition Segment

  1. Competition Start: Contestants have 30 minutes to complete all actions.
  2. Competition End: Contestants must stop immediately when time is up. Any unfinished work will not be counted in the scoring.

(3) Model Presentation

  1. Contestants are not required to move the model. The model should remain standing or sitting in their original position while waiting for evaluation by the judges.
