(M3L) Make Up Artistry - World Ethnic Creative Makeup

Competition Rules & Regulations

  1. Competition Objective

This competition aims to assess participants’ professional skills in makeup techniques, attention to detail, and overall styling coordination. Participants are required to create a themed World Ethnic Creative makeup look that introduces the particular culture throughout the creation within the allocated time.

 

  1. Scoring Criteria
  • Makeup Technique: Evaluation of detailed makeup work, smooth overall lines, distinct layering, and the ability to highlight a fresh and natural style.
  • Creativity and Theme Relevance: Assessment of whether the makeup design aligns with the World Ethnic Creative Makeup theme and successfully combines with overall design.
  • Overall Coordination: Cudgement of the harmony between the makeup and the model’s overall styling (including accessories and attire), and whether the makeup complements the model’s features.

 

  1. Competition Rules

(1)Competition Content

    1. Makeup Theme: Participants must create a World Ethnic Creative makeup look emphasizing a cultural ethnic with creative elements.
    1. Creativity Restrictions: Creativity is limited to the face; designs must not cover more than half the face. Hand-drawn elements or accessories may be used as accents but should not be overly exaggerated.
    1. Completion Ratio: 80% of the makeup must be completed before the competition, with the remaining 20% finished on-site.Contestant must keep one eye without makeup and complete it on site.
    1. Overall Styling: Makeup must complement the overall theme, including suitable attire and accessories.Advise to do light weight hairdo and attire.

(2) Competition Time

    • The competition duration is 30 minutes. All actions must be completed within the time limit.

(3) Contestant Grooming Requirements

    1. Dress Code: Contestants must wear the uniform provided by the organizer, paired with appropriate pants and shoes to reflect a professional image.
    1. Hair Requirements: Hair must be neatly styled, clean, and well-groomed. If the hair is long, it may be tied back to maintain cleanliness and professionalism.
    1. Overall Appearance: Contestants must maintain a tidy and clean appearance, without excessive accessories or heavy makeup, to ensure a professional look.

(4) Tools and Products

    1. Required Equipment: Participants must bring their own makeup tools and products according to the makeup requirements. Brand restrictions do not apply, but all products must meet safety standards.
    1. Extension Cords: Contestants must bring their own extension cords; the organizer will only provide one electrical outlet per participant.

(5) Prohibited Actions

    1. Use of special effects makeup, prosthetics, or overly theatrical elements is prohibited.
    1. Use of irritant makeup products or those that have not passed safety certification is prohibited.
    1. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

 

  1. Model Requirements

(1) Model Conditions

Participants must bring their own models. Models must be female with healthy skin, free from significant sensitivities or visible damage.

(2) Model Clothing

    1. Clothing and Accessories:
    • Models’ attire must align with the World Ethnic Creative makeup theme, featuring simple yet creative. Hairstyle and accessories must allign to the theme. Advise not to prepare oversize attire and hair piece.
    1. Prohibited Items:
    • Models must not wear accessories or hats that obscure the makeup.

 

  1. Safety and Hygiene

(1) Tools and Products

    1. All tools must be disinfected before and after the competition to ensure no risk of cross-contamination.
    1. Makeup products must be certified safe and non-irritating to the model’s skin.

(2) Work Area Cleanliness

    1. Contestants must ensure that their workstations (tables and chairs) are tidy, with no tools, products, or waste left behind.
    1. After the competition, contestants should promptly clean up their tools and products and restore the workstation to a tidy condition.

 

  1. Competition Process

(1) Pre-Competition Preparation

    1. Contestant and Model Check-in:
    • Contestants must arrive at the designated area with their model at least 15 minutes before the competition starts for check-in.

(2) Competition Segment

    1. Competition Start: Contestants have 30 minutes to complete all actions.
    1. Competition End: Contestants must stop immediately when time is up. Any unfinished work will not be counted in the scoring.

(3) Model Presentation

    1. Contestants are not required to move the model. The model should remain standing or sitting in their original position while waiting for evaluation by the judges.

  1. Competition Objective

This competition evaluates participants’ professional skills in special effects makeup techniques, creative expression, and overall styling coordination. Participants must create a makeup design that embodies the “Incomplete Angel” theme, showcasing the coexistence of external “imperfection” and inner “purity” within the given time frame.

  • Makeup Technique: Assessment of detailed makeup work, the realism of special effects elements (e.g., cracks, textures), and overall material coordination.
  • Creativity and Theme Relevance: Evaluation of whether the makeup design aligns with the “Incomplete Angel” theme and effectively contrasts imperfection with purity.
  • Overall Coordination: Judgement of the harmony between the makeup and the model’s overall styling (attire and accessories), and whether the makeup complements the model’s features.

  3. Use of irritant makeup products or those that have not passed safety certification is prohibited.
  4. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
