(H1L) Hairdressing - Gents Trend Cut And Color

1. Competition Objective

The competition aims to evaluate participants’ hairstyling creativity, cutting techniques, and overall design coordination through creative haircut and coloring designs performed on a live model.
Participants are required to present an avant-garde women’s hairstyle, showcasing unique creativity, technical skills, and artistic expression.

 

2. Judging Criteria

Creativity: The uniqueness and visual impact of the hairstyle design.
Cutting Technique: Smoothness of cutting lines, clarity of layers, and whether the overall structure meets the design concept.
Coloring Effect: Natural color transitions and harmonious color combinations that complement the hairstyle.
Overall Coordination: Compatibility between the hairstyle, the live model’s outfit, and the overall styling.

 

3. Competition Rules

(1) Competition Content

Creative Cutting: Participants must complete an avant-garde women’s haircut on a live model, demonstrating innovation and artistic integration. The haircut should feature multi-layered design, clear lines, and natural transitions.
Coloring Effect: The live model’s hair must include at least two colors. Color transitions should be natural and coordinated with the haircut style. All coloring must be completed before the competition begins.
Overall Styling: The live model’s clothing and accessories must align with the competition theme and enhance the overall visual presentation.

(2) Competition Time

• Total competition duration is 30 minutes. All operations must be completed within the given time.
• Participants are allowed to complete up to 80% of the work in advance, with the remaining 20% to be completed on-site.

(3) Participant Appearance Requirements

Dress Code: Participants must wear the official top provided by the organizer, paired with appropriate pants and shoes to reflect a professional image.
Hair Requirement: Hair must be neat, clean, and well-groomed. Long hair should be properly tied back to maintain cleanliness and professionalism.
Overall Appearance: Participants must maintain a clean and tidy appearance. Excessive accessories or heavy makeup are not allowed to ensure a professional look.

(4) Tools and Products

Tools: Scissors, small combs, electric clippers, hair dryers, flat irons, cleaning brushes, etc.
Products: Hair wax, styling spray, or conditioner.
Extension Cords: Participants must bring their own. The organizer will provide one power socket per participant only.

(5) Wet Hair Requirement

• Before the competition begins, the live model’s hair must be moistened and combed smoothly to the ends to ensure proper cutting performance.

(6) Prohibited Actions

• Use of hair extensions is prohibited.
• Use of curling irons is prohibited.
• Use of hair dye or colored sprays to retouch or cover the pre-colored sections is prohibited.
• Any hair trimming or related preparation on the live model before the competition begins is prohibited.
• Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

 

4. Live Model Specifications

(1) Model Requirements

• Participants must provide their own live model.
• Hair color may be freely chosen based on competition needs.
• The model’s hair must be suitable for cutting, coloring, and styling, with good presentation quality.

(2) Cleanliness

• The live model must be clean and tidy, free from dye residue or other impurities.

(3) Hair Length

• Side hair length must be at least 3 cm.
• Top hair length must be at least 7 cm, ensuring flexibility for cutting and styling.

(4) Coloring and Accessories

• The live model’s hair must be suitable for coloring and styling, and all products used must be safety-certified.
• Accessories may be used freely but must not obstruct the main hairstyle design and must be consistent with the theme.

 

5. Safety and Hygiene

(1) Tools and Products

• All tools must be disinfected before and after the competition to prevent cross-contamination.
• All styling products used must be safety-certified to avoid harm to the live model.

(2) Work Area Cleanliness

• Participants must keep their workstation (tables and chairs) clean and free from leftover tools, products, or waste.
• Hair that falls during the competition will be cleaned by staff assigned by the organizer; participants are not required to clean it themselves.
• After the competition, participants must promptly pack their tools and products and restore the workstation to a tidy condition.

 

6. Competition Procedure

(1) Pre-Competition Preparation

Participant Registration: Participants must arrive at the designated location at least 15 minutes before the competition starts to register.

(2) Competition Session

Start of Competition: Participants must complete all operations within the 30-minute time limit.
End of Competition: Participants must stop immediately when time is up. Any unfinished work will not be included in the scoring.

(3) Work Presentation

• The live model will remain at the original position for display, allowing judges to evaluate the hairstyle design and overall styling effect.
